The Propganda Posters

In WW1, many women didn’t want to lose their husbands to war and refused to give their husbands permission. As a result, propaganda campaigns were aimed at making Canadian women feel guilty for not offering their husbands and sons to the war effort. Propaganda posters advertised the respect and honour that a soldier and his family would gain by his going off to war.

What are the uses of these posters?

-to promote patriotism and nationalism in a country, or to promote a belief that a country wanted to portray
- to get young men to fight for their country portraying that it was what a real man, a worthy and god fearing man would do.
-Its was also used to support the war and get society to go along with the governments ideas.
